Meditative reflection on the Cause and Effect

Meditate about how you are living-the effect. Meditate about the cause why you do what you do. Cause and effect is the law that affects each one of us. We create causes through thoughts, words and actions. Sowing the cause is like making reservation. With each cause made, effects are reserved for us. Thus every effect we undergo is due to causes we made. This awareness is Enlightenment-like the Lotus out of a muddy swamp. Instead of going to mountain top for enlightenment, climb the mountain in your own self, by doing meditation on cause and effect.

During heavy rains, you decide to watch TV. The outside world may be facing storm. But you are enjoying what you are seeing. Even if there is suffering in the movie, you enjoy seeing the movie. If it is a Discovery Movie, you not only enjoy what you see, you also learn. Same thing happens when you meditate. In meditation, you can know the cause of suffering. This discovery of the cause can give you awareness as to how you are responsible for what you are. And this learning could help you change the cause and then the effect. Then you become a self-made man and architect of your own life. When you get enlightenment for yourself, spread the same
to all around you. You lay the foundation for world happiness.
